SEO for apps

Turn your app's website into a way people find the app.

Apptiller reads your Google searches, counts your visitors by source, marks the ones from AI assistants, and shows how many went on to the App Store.

Free, no card. No app yet? Paste your website.

Your website does more than you think

Many app websites are a logo and a download button, and App Store Connect can't tell you what they do. Yet a website is what Google ranks, what AI assistants read, and where articles link to. It is also the one place you fully control. What usually goes missing is the link between a website visit and a download.

Apptiller puts them on the same page.

Google Search Console, put to use

Connect Search Console with Google's own sign-in and Apptiller reads your queries, clicks and positions every day, keeping them past Google's limit. Those searches feed your App Store keywords too. If people find your site by typing a phrase into Google, there is a good chance they type it into the App Store as well.

One line of script, no cookie banner to add

An optional script on your website counts visits by source: search, Reddit, TikTok, newsletters and AI assistants, each marked. It records the campaigns and links that sent people and the pages they landed on, plus clicks to the App Store. It only keeps counts, with no cookies, addresses or visitor ids, so there is nothing to consent to. It is one line, and a prompt is ready to paste into your coding agent if you would rather not touch the code.

You don't add anything to your app itself.

AI referral traffic, counted separately

Traffic from ChatGPT and other assistants tends to end up hidden inside "direct" in ordinary analytics. Apptiller separates it, so you can compare it with what the assistants say about you on the AI visibility page: being named, then being clicked.

Daily website checks

The small things that link a site to an app often break without anyone noticing. Each day Apptiller checks whether your App Store links carry a provider token so Apple can credit them, whether your Smart App Banner is in place, and whether Universal Links are set up. Each result comes with what to fix.

Pages worth writing

When your Google data, AI answers and tracked searches point to the same question, Apptiller can suggest a page to write and draft a brief for it, such as a fair comparison with a rival that assistants keep naming. You publish it on your own site. Apptiller does not publish to your site or generate pages in bulk.

What app websites usually get wrong

Three problems come up again and again. The site never says plainly what the app does, so neither Google nor assistants can tell when to show it. App Store links go out with no way of being credited, so you can't see which ones led to a download. And there is only one page, so there is nothing for specific searches to land on, such as a question your app answers or a comparison people are looking for.

None of these need a big content effort. A clear first paragraph, working links and a handful of useful pages will take most app websites further than a blog that goes quiet after a month.

A worked example

Search Console shows your site appearing for "pcos meal plan pdf" with plenty of impressions and few clicks. Those people are looking for something you could offer. In the same week, the script shows that Reddit visitors click through to the App Store far more often than Google visitors. So you write one page that answers that search properly, link to it from the thread you already take part in, and watch both numbers.

That page also gives assistants something to read, which is how website work ends up helping your AI visibility too.

Getting started

Connect Search Console with Google's sign-in, then add your domain to the product in Apptiller. It gives you the script tag, plus a prompt for a coding agent, and shows when the first visit is seen. The website checks start as soon as a site is set up.

Questions

Do I need a website?

No, but many of these features need one. Without a site, Apptiller focuses on the App Store and AI answers.

Does the script slow my site down?

It is a small script loaded asynchronously, so it does not hold up your page.

Can I use this for a website with no app?

Yes. Apptiller works for websites too: Google searches, visitors by source, and AI answers.
